As of 2013, ICANN (Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers) requires validation of the registrant WHOIS contact information whenever you:
Register a new domain.
Update the registrant WHOIS contact information for an existing domain.
When you purchase and register a new domain, you will receive a message at the e-mail address you specified as the domain’s registrant. To activate the domain, click the hyperlink in the message.
Important: The verification message is not sent from an oaohost.com e-mail address, but from donotreply@name-services.com. You may need to whitelist this address in your e-mail client so it does not get marked as spam. The subject line will be Important Notice Regarding Your Domain Name(s).
Warning: You have 15 days to click the link and verify the registration. If you do not verify the registration by the end of the 15-day deadline, the domain will be suspended.When you update the registrant WHOIS contact information (first name, last name, or e-mail address) for an existing domain, you will receive a message at the e-mail address you specified as the new registrant. To verify the new registrant contact information, click the hyperlink in the message.
